EXCUSED: Marge Cochran-Reep, Edie-Mae Lawyer, Shawn Daly. STAFF: Debbie Little, Tim Williams. President pro tem, Douglas Gregory, called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. Attendance was taken. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as corrected. TREASURER'S REPORT—Treasurer, Rose Warren, reported the following: Bank Statement $12,620.57 Emergency Fund 203.25 Petty Cash 20.23 Forgotten Badee Fund 6.00 Interest 3.73 RECREATION DIRECTOR'S REPORT—Tim Williams • Continuing to work on the budget. At this point and time we do not have a lot of cuts, especially not in job positions. Waiting to hear what the Community Advisory Committee comes up with and also the Mayor who proposes the budget for the council to approve. Overall everything is looking good. • Thank you for the Tailgate Party. We had a g�eat time. Help rendered by the Senior Advisory Committee was just incredible. There must have been a couple hundred people who attended. • Renton River Days was a great success. I helped serve and sling shortcakes at the Lion's Club Annual Fund Raiser Breakfast held at the Senior Center on July 24. It was incredible all the different groups that came to serve and coordination by the senior center staff. RECREATION COORDINATOR— Debbie Little • Lion's Club fundraiser served 269 people, up 100 from last year. • Thanked those who helped at the Tailgate Party/Blind Side outdoor movie. You did a great job! It was a wonderFul event,you can be proud of what you did by sponsoring, purchasing and serving the food. People seemed to enjoy the menu and taking part in the activities/games; D.J. played music; and,the movie, "The Blind Side," was outstanding. • Senior picnic went well serving 500. Rosie helped with transportation. • 15 people rode the Ducks on 7/29; lunch was at the Seattle Center. • Trips coming up: 1. Deception Pass Boat Tour/Seabolt's Smokehouse for Lunch. 2. Yakima Vallev Wine Tour. 3. Ballard Locks. 4. Troopers fn Training trip in September. � � • Just a reminder. It was a little vague in the brochure... it says we are closed September 30 and 26; It should be the week of the 13th and 20�h. Keep in mind the week of the 13m Nutrition will be serving lunch.in the auditorium. A two week closure. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Mary Burns-Haley thanked the City for the shuttle bus service that went to the picnic. The parking, business of trying to get to RCC, plus lack of space; it was a blessing to have that available.
