TREASUER'S REPORT Bank Statement $12,963.63 Emergency Fund 203.25 Petty Cash 20.23 Forgotten Badge Fund 6.00 SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR'S REPORT—Shawn Daly • Received a check in the amount of$35 in memory of Jane Goodwin. • Have a receipt for Rosie Warren in the amount of$450 from Safeway for BINGO gift cards. • Senior Services is key component for our Renton River Days Picnic at RCC. They provide bringing over all the food and preparation once it gets here. They will do it again this year. They will get the count for serving 550 meals. Two stipulations is: 1) meet USDA guidelines they have set, 2) when people come to pick up a ticket at the front desk a signature, per ticket, required. Health Department will be here inspecting making sure everything is on ice and hand wash stations available. • A meeting is scheduled for the Volunteer Nurses on Thursday,June 24, to review standards and when to call 911 or not calf 911. Last update was 25 years ago. Received a letter from the Fire Department with recommendations. • With the passing of Jane Goodwin we are short a member. In the past we discussed the following: 1) Do we want to reduce the number of inembers to 12; or, 2) Try to fill the position? My recommendation is to put out flyers promoting the opening. Bylaws state it has to be advertised for a minimum of two weeks. In the past we advertised a minimum of one month, which is my recommendation. Discussion followed. It was moved by Mary Burns-Haley and second by Ben Cheney that we continue the committee as is. Motion Carried. • Renton Community Foundation is raising their fees. Right now they charge .08%to invest and a 1% management fee. They plan increasing the investing fee to 1.5%; $3,000 a year of increased costs. Bottom line, they are providing more services then they use too. Terry Higashiyama, Community Services Administrator—A few items on Council tonight are: 1) Special Events Ordinance and creating a Special Events Committee to help regulate and guide large events so we don't have multiple events on the same weekend. 2) Final briefing on the Trail Safety Ordinance which changes the Park Rules & Regulations to ten miles an hour and a dismount zone. The other item going to Council is Park Board acceptinaff recommendation not to change anf our rules about dogs at Coulon or Kennydale Beach. Mary Burns-Haley asked Terry how depleted her staff is this year and how many did she cut. Terry said, "I cut five positions, but what hurt the most was the part-time and temporary seasonal workers." Just starting the budget. This is the first time we are doing a two year budget; you come back the second year and do an addendum, if you need too;this will save staff time. No big changes until 2013. Ben Cheney asked if there is a meeting on July 5; answer is N0, city closed for 4th of July holiday; asked if July 19th is the next Board Meeting; answer is YES. Answer, YES. if paint is left over is it possible to paint the two white walls upstairs outside the elevator area by the Coke Machine? Shawn will add it to his maintenance list for September. At the nurses meeting do they ever calibrate the machines; and, it is important to know the people taking the blood pressures are accurate as possible with their hearing.
