Attendance taken. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Shawn Da1y reported on the current condition of our President, Edie-Mae Lawyer. She fell March 20 at the Leisure Estates club house with severe damage to her skull and ,at this time, has shown some improvement, but has not regained consciousness. We pray for her speedy and complete recovery. SENIOR CENTER COORDINATOR REPORT: Shawn Daly 1) Tax Aide program went well, over 300 clients 2) Garden opens Friday, all spots filled TREASURER'S REPORT: Ela.ine Koehler, Treasurer reported thefoltowing Bank balance $12,955.92 Emergency Fund $203,25 Petty cash $ 20.23 Forgotten Badge Fund $6.�70 CO1��VILT1�lITY SERVICES: Terry Higashiyma Terry Higashiyama responded to the questions from the March 15�'meeting 1) information about new businesses or policies regarding zoning can be directed to the Planning Commission. You can also access their agenda on the Cities web site. They meet twice a month. Staff at the Senior Center can access the agenda's and post for those interested. 2) The trucks that were at Liberty Park building on March 12�were part of official move of Community Services back to City Hall as was reported at an earlier meeting. It was suggested that this type of information be posted in city news so people are aware of expenditures being authorized and what is happening. � � 2 Terry also reported on the next steps in the hiring of the Recreation Director. The hope is to have the person on board May lst. The process is being fmalized before announcement is made. The Department is starting the Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Natural Resources Plan. This is an important document not only for laying out the needs for years to come but also helps se t out CIP Plan and grant opportunities. We hope the Senior Advisory will be involved in the process. Terry will also report back regarding dogs at Coulon once the information has been fmalized. There were also questions regarding lighting on the Cedar River trail. Terry will report to Maintenance staff. She will also look into the concern about a PSE utility box that does not have a lock on it. RECREATION COORDINATOR'S REPORT: Debbie Little 1) Coed softball begins Tuesday, Apri16 2) Dog Behavior Workshop starts Apri16, bring dog, & meet outside the coffee bar 3) Senior Feud Game on Wednesday, April 7 4) Thursday afternoon dances are so popular that tables have been elimi.nated & chairs placed along the walls to accommodate more dancers. 5) The hiking group are back in action April 13. 6) Recently our Nutrition Supervisor cooked a special luncheon for the lunch crowd, she also is having cooking classes. 7) Newcomer's Hour. A new volunteer, Jo� �Vlac�, is leading the orientation for the newcomers' hour. 8) Don't forget the Senior Revue May 13 @ 1P.M.& May 14@ 7p.m. 9) See your bulletin for a11 the rest and congratulations on the new look and now being stapled together. ADDITIONAL NOTES MARY ANN ELLINGSON noted the Renton Magazine piece on Edie-Mae FERN Ziebell asked about the library renovation. No news as yet ERIC EASTBERG was informed that the flag was at '/2 staff each time a WA State service person is killed in battle, a state law.
