OPERATION OF A FIRE HYDRANT AND WATER MAIN
„ GRANTED BY KING COUNTY TO THE CITY OF RENTON
This agreement made this (� �, day of �C:;��J , 1983, by and
between King County, a political subdivision of the State of Washington, hereinafter
termed the Grantor, and the City of Renton, hereinafter termed the Grantee.
WITNESSETH:
That for and in consideration of r,iutual benefits, the Grantor herein, by these
presents, grants unto the Grantee, its successors and assigns, an easement and right
of way, over, through, under, across and upon the following described real property,
situate in King County, Washington, to-wit:
That area 7.50 feet left and 7.50 feet right of the following described
centerline:
Point of beginning on the centerline of "A" line station 11+54.50; as referenced
on sheet 4 of 20, King County Department of Public Works Consolidated Shop
Facility; Thence North 88°55'35" West fifteen (15.00) feet; Thence South 46°04'25" ,
West fifty six (56) feet; Thence North 88°55'35" West eighty t�o and one half
(82.50) feet; Thence South O1°04'25" West twenty (20.00) feet to the terminus.
� This easement is for the purpose of installing, operating and maintaining one
� hundred thirty (130) feet of eight (8) inch water main and a fire hydrant for the
0 transfer station in Renton, Washington, operated by King County.

Said heretofore mentioned Grantee, its successors or assigns, shall have the
right, without prior notice or proceeding at law, at such times as iriay be necessary,
to enter upon the above described property for the purpose of constructing, main-
taining, repairing, altering or reconstructing said utilities, or making any
connections therewith, without incurring any legal obligations or liability therefore,
provided, that such construction, maintaining, repairing, altering or reconstruction
of said utilities shall be accomplished in such a manner that the private improvements
existing in the right(s)-of-way shall not be disturbed or damaged; or if disturbed or
damaged, they will be replaced in as good a condition as they were immediately before
the property was entered upon by the Grantee.
Ttie Grantor shall fully use and enjoy the aforedescribed premises , including
the right to retain the right to use the surface of said right-of-way if such use
does not interfere with installation and maintenance of the utilities. However, the
Grantor shall not erect buildings or structures over, under or across the right-of-way
during the existence of such utilities.
HOLD HARMLESS: Grantee (City of Renton) acknowledges and Grantor (King County)
similarly acknowledges that Grantee's responsibility is to repair, reconstruct
and/or maintain the water lines, Fire Hydrant and appurtenant facilities
associated with the granting of this easement. Grantee agrees to hold Grantor,
its elected and appointed officials and employees harmless from all claims and/
or causes of actions which may arise due to the activities of Grantee in
repairing, reconstructing or maintaining these facilities pursuant to this
easement.
This easement shall be a covenant running with the land and shall be binding on
the Grantor, his successors, heirs and assigns. Grantors covenant that they are the
lawful owners of the above properties and that they have a good and lawful right to
execute this agreement.
