RESOLUTION NO. 4294
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
ASSIGNMENT OF KING COUNTY CONTRACT NO. EMS3342, ENTITLED KING
COUNTY CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, TO THE RENTON
REGIONAL FIRE AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, on February 14, 2014, the City and King County entered into an agreement
under which King County made certain funds available for basic life support services; and
WHEREAS, the agreement, King County's Contract No. EMS3342, entitled King County
Contract for Emergency Medical Services ("Agreement"), established the terms and conditions
for the funding from 2014 through 2019; and
WHEREAS, on April 26, 2016, voters within the jurisdictions of the City and King County
Fire Protection District No. 25 voted to create the Renton Regional Fire Authority ("RRFA") in
order to provide fire protection, emergency medical and life safety services; and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 2016, the RRFA became effective; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to assign its rights and obligations under the
A reement to the RRFA as the rovider of basic life support services in the City of Renton;

WHEREAS, the City received from King County full payment for services provided prior
to July 1, 2016, and the City intends for the RRFA to be entitled to any additional payments due
from King County under the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION il. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an
assignment that assigns the City's rights and obligations under King County Contract No.
EMS3342 for Basic Life Support Services to the Renton Regional Fire Authority with such
assignment retroactively effective July 1, 2016.
