Rainier Ave Public Art: Last month it was discussed to add art to the NE corner of Rainier, according to Benson Shaw, would take approximately an additional investment of$30,000. The fund balance for 1% for Art is$77,000 and approximately$15,000 per year is added. Projects for the future are: Galvanizing , Project, NE 4th and Sunset corridors,Arts Center and smaller projects, art shows and cleaning & maintenance of art work. The North Coast Indians art needs to be maintained. On the Rainier Project, Denise felt the rendering of the NW corner(Honda corner)was cluttered and Bill felt both sides were too much. Peter added it's too much money to have both sides. The final design plans for the Rainier Project have been submitted by the consultant. More money needs to be invested in the project now for Benson to move ahead with the NW corner and we don't have a fund raising source at this time where we could raise that kind of money. Peter asked if there was a wall on the NE side. Mosaics are an option for the other side.
