b) Approval of editing the language of Rule 21—Class Specifications for the Police Service to read, "Effective
December 18, 2012,the Deputy Police Chief will no longer be considered a Civil Service classified
position. The rank of Deputy Chief is an appointment by the Police Chief from the rank of Commander.
The incumbent would maintain the civil service rank of Commander.

c) Approval of changing the Entry Level Police Officer Written Exam passing score from 75%to 70%.

A.) The Civil Service Commission reelected Jim Phelan as the Civil Service Chair for 2013.

B.) The Civil Service Commission reelected Bill Larson as the Vice Chair for 2013.

C.) The Civil Service Commission approved the meeting dates for 2013 and made one adjustment for
December 2013. Instead of the fourth Tuesday of the month,the December meeting will be on the
third Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
