Vice Chair, Bill Larson called the meeting to order at 4:30 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Review of the minutes from the May 22, 2012 meeting.

FIRE&EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
I)Unfrnished Business: None
2)New Business:
a) Approval of the Revised Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, Battalion/Chief Safety Officer, and
Deputy Chief Classification specifications. The Education and Experience section of the Fire Captain
classification was amended prior to the meeting. The following proposed language combined the first
and third paragraphs in the Education and Experience section.
"The Fire Captain promotional exam is open to Lieutenants of the Renton Fire&
Emergency Services Department who have at least three (3) years of consecutive
employment with the Renton Fire Department,with at least one year experience post
probation in the rank of Lieutenant."
