Brown, Mary Burns-Haley, Ben Cheney, Marjorie Cochran-Reep, Dorothy Cook, Eric Eastberg, Mary Ann Ellingson, Mary Lou Gilbert, Douglas Gregory, Ruby Griffin, Elaine Koehler, Sandra Polley, Rose Warren. CITYOFRENTON ABSENT: Emilie McCue, Debbie Little, Tim Williams. DEC O 9 2011 STAFF: Shawn Daly. CITY CLERKS OFFICE GUEST: Mij Charbonneau, Shirley Haddock, Kay Nairn and Tom Winter; Tina, Custodial Maintenance. President Ben Cheney called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. Attendance was taken. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. TREASURER'S REPORT—Treasurer, Rose Warren, reported the following: Bank Statement $12,697.39 Emergency Fund 203.25 Petty Cash 20.23 , Forgotten Badge Fund 7.00 �� Interest for October 1.12 '' RECREATION SUPERVISOR'S REPORT–Shawn Daly '', • Shawn introduced Tina our Custodian at the Senior Center; after eleven years, Tina is moving on as a �I Water Meter reader for the City of Renton. I want to recognize Tina since she has done nothing short of an outstanding job; whenever Tina is asked to do a job, whether it's in her job classification or not, she is always willing to help. • I want to thank the four candidates who are here applying for the open position. In January, 2012, two positions are open; one position will be filled by Peggy Budzu who qualified in last year's interview process. This is the first-time we have ever had eleven applicants apply to serve on the Mayor's Advisory Board. Interviews will be held December 13-14, 2011, from 8:30-12:30 PM. Interview committee will be Ben Cheney, Marjorie Cochran-Reep and Sandy Polley. � The Renton Community Foundation is returning the $500 deposit that was loaned by the Advisory Board for the art work on the remodeling of the Library Lounge. • Bonnie Rerecich is in charge of the Boards and Commissions training taking place on November 30tn; from 5:30-8:30 PM; dinner will be provided. Flyers were handed out at the last meeting and again today. Shawn will RSVP a head count on how many are attending. • Renton Rotary is sponsoring the Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner; 280 tickets are out. Union 2170 is sponsoring $100 to off-set costs for raffles. Union 2170 made a check payable to the Renton Senior Center; in turn I need a check from the Treasurer, for$100, payable to Safeway. About 75 volunteers help with games, coffee bar and serve the actual meal. ' • Ma or Denis Law will install new officers members and renew members on Februar 6tn Y , Y • On Veterans' Day the Lions Club sponsored a free dinner to 120 World War II veterans'. � • Volunteer Party is December 7th, from 4:30-6:30 PM. � , • Sean Claggett s Special Populations program is putting on a Christmas play at Carco Theatre on December 15th at 7:00 PM; tickets are free. • Reminder: Mary Burn-H�'s only request is having each Board �ber write a little memory of her. • Lighting of the Clam Lights is Friday, December 2"d, at 6:15 PM; a covered wagon ride, entertainment; enjoy Rainier Yacht Club's Parade of Boats and the Argosy Christmas Ship. COMMENTS: Pat Baylor—Closing out RSVP month end report; make sure you sign-in today and your individual sheets are complete and up-to-date. RSVP, after all these years, requesting job description for whatever area they work in. Ben Cheney asked Pat if she received minutes for the years 2006-2011. Not yet, however we are working towards it. Douglas Gregory—Shawn have you heard any more about the plans on the outside patio? Shawn said, "No I haven't."
