RMC 4-5-070 Uniform Fire Code 4.0 POLICY: In the interest of public safety, the City of Renton requires that proper notice and cooperative response be given to the Fire Department and/or Fire District when conditions or events cause an emergency shut-down or interruption of water supply to fire hydrants or other valves. 5.0 DEFINITIONS: Not applicable. 400-09 EMERGENCY WATER SHUT-DOWN NOTIFICATION PAGE 2 6.0 PROCEDURE: 6.1 When conditions or events cause an emergency shut-down or interruption of normal water supplies to fire hydrants or fire protection systems, the Fire Department shall be immediately notified by the Public Works Department, Police Department, or Water District. If the Fire Department cannot be contacted at its normal business phone number (235-2643), Valley Communication Center shall be notified via 911 . 6.2 The Public Works Department and/or Water District shall strive to provide the Fire Depatment with information as to the type of condition or interruption, extent of service area outage, and the expected time of return to service in order for the Fire Department and/or Fire District to establish contingency plans.
