Nelson Glode ,Q n 1.0 Purnose To establish guidelines for enforcement of employee parking and to encourage car and van pooling. 2.0 ORGANIZATIONS AFFECTED All departments/divisions. 3.0 REFERENCES City Commute Trip Reduction Act Program 4.0 POLICY 4.1 It is the policy of the City of Renton to provide designated parking in City owned lots for employees after sufficient space for the public has been provided, and to encourage car and van pooling. 4.2 Designated parking stalls, located in the vicinity of the Municipal Building and Library, axe provided for employees of the City which aze identified by"permit parking"or"permit carpool parking" signage. 4.3 Parking stalls for use by the public,guests of the City and consultants doing business with the City, are located in the vicinity of the Municipal Building and Library. The stalls are identified as having a two-hour limit. 5.0 PROCEDURES 5.1 Employees, both regular and temporary,may obtain car and van pool pernut stickers from the Renton Police Department for the vehicle(s)they will bring to work. The sticker sha11 be placed in the vehicle left rear window for maximum visibility. 5.2 Employees who utilize the car/van pool method of commuting with two or more City of Renton employees at least four da,ys a week will be allowed priority parking in the car pool or van pool only parking spaces. 5.3 Temporary parking pernuts for employees who drive an alternate vehicle to work on a short term basis are available in the Human Resources and Risk Management Department. The temparary pernut allows the employee to park in the "permit parking" area only and shall be placed on the left side of the vehicle dash. 5.4 Guests and consultants doing business with the City who park in the two-hour stalls and who expect to exceed the two hour limit, may obtain a temporary parking pernut from the Human Resources &Risk Management Department. 2/15/95,10:38 AM
