ADDENDUM NO. 4-19 TO LAG-13-002
Between City of Renton and REACH
THIS ADDENDUM No. 4 to Lease Agreement LAG-13-002 (Addendum No. 4) is effective upon
being signed ("Effective Date") by both the City of Renton (City or Owner), a Washington
municipal corporation, and Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches (REACH). The City and
REACH are referred to collectively in this Agreement as the "Parties."
WHEREAS, the Parties entered into a Lease Agreement LAG-13-002 ("Lease Agreement") dated
January 30, 2013, in which REACH agreed to perform specific beneficial services within the leased
space;
WHEREAS, REACH lacks funds to continue performing the services contemplated within the Lease
Agreement. REACH requested the City provide it with a one-time $50,000 payment to enable its
continuation of operations and programs while the parties negotiate a longer term solution to
enable REACH to continue providing the valuable services it provides to low income and homeless
residents of Renton, including but not limited to those contemplated in the Lease Agreement;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11.10.A of the Lease Agreement, REACH has the contractual right
to discontinue its operations and terminate the Lease Agreement and it expects to be forced to
discontinue services due to an immediate lack of funding;
WHEREAS, because REACH performs essential services to the poor and infirm and the City would
be unable to timely provide replacement services, the City wishes to provide REACH additional
funding to facilitate its continuation of the services required by the Lease Agreement and various
additional services it provides to homeless residents of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual terms and covenants in this Addendum and
other good and valuable consideration, the Parties agree to the following:
SECTION 1. The City agrees to pay REACH fifty-thousand dollars ($50,000) to be paid in four
separate payments according to the following schedule: 1) $15,000 payable as soon as practical
from the date this Addendum 4 is executed, 2) $15,000 by October 10, 2019, 3) $10,000 by
November 10, 2019, and 4) $10,000 by December 10, 2019. The City further agrees to provide
printing and copying services at no cost to REACH.The City reserves the right to limit the provision
of printing and copying services to such services the City deems necessary or appropriate to
facilitate REACH's provision of services contemplated herein.
SECTION 2. In exchange for the compensation provided pursuant to Section 1, REACH agrees
to continue performing the services/duties described in Section 11.7 of the Lease Agreement
without interruption for no less than 120 days. During such time, REACH agrees to take all
reasonable steps to reduce overhead costs and obtain additional funding from sources other than

the City of Renton to enable it to maintain fiscal sustainability and continued operations for the
remaining term of the Lease Agreement.
SECTION 3. All terms and conditions of the Lease Agreement not amended by this Addendum
No. 4 shall remain in full force and effect and are ratified and re- confirmed. To the extent any
term(s) and/or conditions of the Lease Agreement conflicts with any term(s) and/or condition(s)
of this Addendum No. 4, the term(s) and/or condition(s) of this Addendum No. 4 shall control.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties agree that this Addendum No. 4, once executed takes effect
on the Effective Date noted above.
