ORDINANCE NO. 2938
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON
VACATING A PORTION OF WHITMAN COURT , N. E . AS
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINBELOW ,
RESERVING AN EASEMENT IN FAVOR OF THE CITY .
N WHEREAS the City of Renton heretofore passed and approved
its Resolution No. 1878 expressing its intent to vacate a certain
O portion of right of way as hereinafter below set forth ; and
WHEREAS the City Council by said Resolution fixed and
established October 23 , 1973 , at the hour of 8 : 00 P . M. in the
City Council Chambers of the City of Renton to be the time and
place of public hearing thereon and whereas another public hearing
was held thereon June 2 , 1975 , and due notice thereof has been given
as required by law including posting and publication in the City ' s
legal newspaper and all persons having been heard appearing in favor
of or in opposition thereto ; and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission and Department of Public
Works having duly considered said resolution and having found same
to be in the public interest and for the public benefit and the City
Council having further determined that no substantial injury or
damage would occur to any person or properties by reason of such
vacation and that there will be adequate access to other properties
not abutting upon the area sought to be vacated;
NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The following described portion of street , to-wit :
All that portion of Whitman Court Northeast (134th Avenue
Southeast) within the Plat of Honey Dew Estates No . 1 ,
recorded in Volume 72 of Plats , page 98 , records of
King County, Washington , lying between the North line of
said sub-division and the North margin of Northeast 11th
Street (Southeast 114th Street) .

BE AND" THE SAME IS HEREBY VACATED , SUBJECT HOWEVER TO AN easement for
utility purposes and other public purposes retained by the City of
Renton which said easement is described as follows ; to-wit :
All that portion of Whitman Court Northeast (134th Avenue

SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage , approval and five (5) days after its publication , unless
otherwise provided for hereinabove . A certified copy of this Ordinance
shall be filed with the Office of Records and- Elections , King County ,
and as otherwise provided by law.
