AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF DRAINAGE PIPE
LINE IN VACATED PORTION OF WILLIAMS STREET

THIS AGREEMENT, between DEFENSE PLANT CORPORATION, a corpora-
tion created pursuant to and by virtue of an Act of Congress entitled
"Reconstruction Finance Corporation Act", approved January 22, 1932,
as amended, and CITY OF RENTON, a municipal corporation,
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, The State of Washington has heretofore paved Williams

` ! wrly of the meander line of Lake Washington and has laid a drainage

pipe line in said highway to be used for disposal of surface drain-
age; and
WHEREAS, Defense Plant Corporation has heretofore extended
said drainage pipe line to Lake Washington by constructing such
extension within the following described strip of land located in
King County, Washington, to wit:
The Easterly Half of .that portion of Williams
Street North in the City of Renton (formerly County
Road No. 376) , vacated by Ordinance No. 1146 of said
city, beginning on the North with the inner harbor line
of Lake Washington and continuing South and East to a
line extending northeasterly and southwesterly across
said Williams Street North, which line is 30 feet
northwest of and parallel to the meander line as said
meander line extends across said Williams Street North,
and
WHEREAS, prior to the construction of said pipe line extension,
The State of Washington, by and through its Director of- Highways,
represented it would procure or cause to be procurred, the neces-
sary right-of-way for such extension, and further represented that
the State of Washington or the City of Renton would maintain such
pipe line extension after the same had been constructed by the
Defense Plant Corporation, and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton, by proper resolution (Resolution
(1-7 ).
A No. W), did agree with the State of Washington, that the City of

Renton would maintain that portion of Williams Street North paved
by the State of Washington along with other streets within the
City of Renton recently paved by the State of Washington.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the sum of One Dollar in
hand paid, and in consideration of the construction of such drainage
pipe line by Defense 'Plant Corporation, The City of Renton hereby
agrees to maintain said drainage pipe line in good condition ind to
keep the same free from obstruction so long as the same is used in
connection with and as a part of the drainage pipe line in Williams
Street .North; providing, without cost to the City of Renton, the
State of Washington or the Defense Plant Corporation will procure
and deliver to the City of Renton an acceptable form of easement
executed by the owner of the easterly half of vacated Williams
Street North in favor of the City of Renton, said easement for the .
construction and maintenance for said drainage pipe.
It is understood that the extension of said pipe line herein
described shall be used for carrying into Lake Washington, at the
foot of Williams Street North vacated, the surface drainage of
Williams Street North including the vacated portion thereof, and
Defense Plant Corporation and its assigns shall have the right to
maintain the three side drainage pipe line connections therewith
as shown on the drawing attached hereto and made a part hereof.
