ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
VACATING A CERTAIN PORTION OF HARRINGTON PLACE
- NORTHEAST, FORMERLY KNOWN AS 12TH PLACE IN THE
0, CITY OF RENTON, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON
C WHEREAS the City of Renton on its own initiative, proceeded to
q) vacate portions of certain streets as hereinafter more particularly
described, and
WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution No. 1665 approved
on February 2 ,- 1970 , and after due investigation did fix and
determine the 2nd day of March, 1970 at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in
the City Council Chambers of the City of Renton to be the time and
place for public hearing thereon; and the Clerk having given due
notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law and all persons
having been heard appearing in favor or opposition thereto, and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission and the Board of Public Works
having duly considered such proposed action by theCity of Renton
and said vacation as hereinafter more particularly described, and
same being found to bein the public interest and for the public
benefit and no injury or damage to any Person or properties will
result therefrom, and
WHEREAS the City Council has further determined that the vacation
of said street will provide! by means of an exchange with abutting
property owners, for the establishment of a park and playground for
children, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following described portions of street, to-wit:
All that portion of Harrington Place Northeast
(formerly 12th Place) and of that 50 foot strip deeded
for street right-of-way prposed under King County
Auditor's File No. 6471625 (Volume 5201 of Deeds ,
page 617) over and adjoining Tract 46B, corrected plat
of Renton Highlands No. 2, according to the Plat
recorded in Volume 57 of Plats , pages 92 to 98 , records
of King County, Washington, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 19, Block 46 ,
said corrected Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2; thence

South 3°35 ' 27" West along the Easterly margin of
Harrington Avenue Northeast a distance of 25. 08 feet;
thence South 88°59 '45" East e. distance of 46 feet, more
or less , to the Easterly margin of the Public Use
area of said Block 46 and the true point of beginning;
thence continuing South 88°59 ' 45" East a distance of
CO 113.-30 feet to a point of a curve to the left, radius
75 feet; thence continuing along the arc of a curve
s. .1 O to the left, with a radius 75 feet, a distance of 15
Ott feet-, more or less , to an intersection with the
r, Southerly production of the Westerly line of Harrington
Place Northeast; thence North 31°59 ' 53" East along said
Southerly production and said Westerly margin a distance
of 306 feet, more or less , to an intersection with the
•, Westerly production of the Northerly line of Block 40 ,
said plat; thence Southeasterly along said Northerly
line a distance of 50 feet to the Easterly margin of
Harrington Place Northeast; thence South 31°59 ' 53"
West a distance of 275. 81 feet, to a point of curve
• to the right, radius 100 feet; thence Southwesterly
along th'e arc of a curve to the right, radius 100 feet,
through a central angle of 59°00' 22" , a distance of
102. 98 feet; thence NorT i, 88°59! 45" West a distance
of 124 feet more or less to the Easterly margin of the -
Public Use Area in said Block 46 ; thence North along
said Easterly margin a distance of 27. 37 feet to the
true point of beginning' •
be and the same is hereby vacated.
SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect

from and after its passage , approval and legaarpublication as
provided by law. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed
with the King County Auditor' s office and as otherwise provided by law.
