THE GRANTOR PUGET SOUND POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, a Washington corporation
for and in consideration of ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) and other valuable considerations
conveys and quit claims to the City of Renton, the following described real
rte.
,,>: estate, situated in the County of King, State of Washington:
A strip of land fifty (50) feet wide known as the Renton
• Snoqualmie Transmission right of way described as follows:
Twenty-five (25) feet on each side of the following center
line beginning at a quarter corner between Sections 9 and
16, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M. ; thence S 72°15'
West 2,772 feet and leaving said Section 16 at a point 858
feet south from the northwest corner of said Section 16;
thence S 72°15' West 300 feet; thence S 65°15' West 325 feet;
thence S 72° West 545 feet; thence S 61°50' West 260 feet;
thence S 82°30' West to a terminus on Mt. Olivet Way in
Section 17, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M. , or as
said center line may be determined in the field by actual
use.
It is understood that the parcel of land above described is a portion of
the right of way for certain transmission and/or distribution lines of the
Grantor, which right of way and electric lines are used by the Grantor in its
business as an electric public service company, and said parcel of land is
hereby conveyed to the Grantee solely for the establishment and maintenance
of a public highway and the installation and maintenance of utility lines
other than electric utility lines. As part of the consideration of this trans-
action, it is understood that the facilities of the Grantor shall be permitted
to remain along and across the right of way of said highway but not to interfere
with ordinary highway traffic. Should it become necessary in the future to.
alter or relocate any of said facilities from within the right of way herein
conveyed, by order of the City of Renton, all costs for such alterations or
relocations shall be borne by the City of Renton.

RESOLUTION NO. /2 Q X
WHEREAS the City of Renton is presently engaged in the improvement of its
street system, including the acquisition of new rights-of-way for the purpose, among
others, of alleviating traffic congestion and to facilitate the flow of traffic, and
WHEREAS such overall plan includes the establishment, improvement and
construction of the so-called Third Avenue North Extension, the establishment of which
is in the public interest and for the public benefit, and
WHEREAS Puget Sound Power & Light Company, a Washington Corporation, is willing
to deed unto the City a right-of-way for said Third Avenue North Extension, and
WHEREAS the construction of said right-of-way includes the removal of certain
electric transmission lines owned and controlled by said Company, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RFJTON AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The aforestated facts and recitals are hereby found to be true
and correct in every respect. The City Council further finds that the relocation of
certain electrical transmission lines owned and controlled by Puget Sound Power & Light
Company is necessary and vital to the construction and establishment of said Third
Avenue North Extension and that it is further recognized that such work shall be done
by said Company in compliance with its rules and regulations which require said work
to be done by its own labor forces.
Section 2: That certain Quit Claim Deed dated Augpst the 30th , 1963
executed by Puget Sound Power & Light Company, as Grantor, and conveying unto the City
of Renton, as Grantee, a certain strip of land 50 feet in width, and as further described
in that certain Deed, which is attached hereto labeled Exhibit "A", and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth, is hereby accepted by the City; the City Clerk is hereby
directed to place said Deed on record with the office of the King County Auditor.
Section 3: As further consideration for the execution and delivery of said
Deed unto the City of Renton, the City agrees to pay unto Puget Sound Power & Light
Company, the sum of Seventeen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ( $17,500.00) on account c
the cost of removal and relocation of said Company's electric transmission lines and
facilities within said right-of-way hereinabove described, and such payment to be made
upon full completion of said removal and relocation and upon certification thereof by
the City Engineer of the City of Renton. This payment of $17,500.00 shall be the total
consideration to be paid by the City unto said Company for all of the costs and expense
involved in said relocation and that all additional costs therefor shall be borne by

Puget Sound Power & Light Company. The City Engineer of the City of Renton has hereto-
fore approved and verified the costs and expenses of said relocation and the removal of
said obstructions from the right-of-way hereinabove deeded unto the City of Renton,
all of which plans and specifications therefor are hereby attached, labeled Exhibit "B"
and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. If the total cost of said
relocation, as set forth in Exhibit "B", should be less than the sum of $17,500.00, then
in any such event the City's obligation to pay therefor shall be said lesser sum.
