HomeMy WebLinkAboutCP 7207190420 7a- o7/ 90 /a0 ORDINANCE NO. c2 '103 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE CITY' S COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN AND MAPS AND DATA IN CONJUNCTION THEREWITH RELATING TO CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF BENSON ROAD SOUTH AND SOUTH PUGET DRIVE , RENTON, WASHINGTON WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Renton and the City Council have heretofore adopted and filed a "Comprehensive Land Use Plan" as evidenced by Resolution No. 1240 , and Ordinance No. 2142 , and as same have been implemented and amended from time to time , together with the adoption of various codes , reports and records , and WHEREAS since said adoption the Planning Commission has heretofore duly recommended to the City Council , from time to time , certain amendments to said City' s "Comprehensive Land Use Plan" ; and WHEREAS a petition has heretofore been filed by General Securities , Inc. on or about July 7 , 1971 , and said matter having come on for a public hearing before the Planning Commission on or about Oct. 27 , 1971 , and said hearing having been duly continued, and the Petitioner having thereafter filed a timely appeal from an adverse decision of said Planning Commission , and a public hearing having been held on said Petition and Appeal before the City Council on or about March 27 , 1972 , after notice and publication as provided by law, and all parties appearing in favor of or in opposition to said petition and amendment to the City' s Comprehensive Land Use Plan, having been duly heard at such public hearings ; and WHEREAS the City Council has duly determined after consideration of all the testimony and evidence before it, that it is advisable and appropriate to amend and modify the City ' s "Comprehensive Land Use Plan" ; and such amendment being in the public interest and for the public benefit; NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : The aforestated findings and recitals are hereby found to be true and correct ,in all respects , and Petitioner' s application is granted and the prior decision of the Planning Commission is hereby revergf8TION II : The City of Renton's "Comprehensive Land Use Plan' and maps ,c].ta and reports in conjunction therewith are hereby - 1. - modified and amended, pursuant tothe public hearings held in connection therewith, as hereinabove specified, which amendments and modifications relate to the following described properties , to-wit : That portion of the SW quarter of Sec. 20 , Twn. 23 ,N , Range 5 , E .W.M. , in King County, Washington described as follows : Commencing at the NW corner of said SW quarter thence S . 2°06 ' 30" W. along the W. line thereof 494 . 94 feet to the southerly line of Puget Sound Power 8 Light Co. ' s 120 foot right of way, as contained in instrument recorded under Auditor' s file No. 5687370 ; thence N. 74°32 ' 17" E. 297 . 53 feet to a point on the Easterly margin of Puget Drive ; thence S . 16°20 ' 40" East along said easterly margin 1047 . 42 feet to the true point of beginning; thence N. 68°39 ' 20" E. 115 . 89 feet to the Westerly margin of Benson Road as said margin was established by Judgment 8 Decree of Appropriation filed under Superior Court of Washington case No. 668210 ; thence S. 21°19 ' 15" E. along said Westerly margin 316 . 03 feet ; thence S . 17°51 ' 28" W. Along the right of way intersection of Benson Road and Puget Drive 17 . 13 feet to a point on the Easterly line of aid Puget Drive , said point being on a 304. 26 foot radius curve concave to the NE , a radial at said point bearing N. 17°51 ' 28" E ; thence Northerly along said Easterly margin an arc distrance of 296 . 30 feet to a point of tangency; thence N. 16°20 ' 40" W. along said Easterly margin 67 . 26 ft to the true point of beginning; all located on the northwest corner of Benson Road and Puget Drive in Renton, King County, Washington, and said abovedescribed property is hereby designated as "Commercial" on said "Comprehensive Land Use Plan" ; and any and all other plans and records pertaining thereto. SECTION III : The City Engineer and Planning Director are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary changes on said City' s "Comprehensive Land Use Plan" and the maps in conjunction tlErewith to evidence the aforedescribed amendment. SECTION IV: The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to file this Ordinance as provided by law , and a complete copy of said document likewise being on file with the office of the City Clerk , City of Renton. SECTION V : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage , approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise provided for hereinabove.
