Hi Jill,
I found this on the old Renton website and have several questions:
To comment on a proposal: Send your written comments to the Project Manager listed on the
Notice of Application, at Department of Community & Economic Development (CED) -
Planning Division, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057, and be sure to include your
name and address. (E-mail comments will not be accepted unless they are followed up with
written and signed comments.) Comments will be accepted until the time a staff report is
prepared for the decision or recommendation, with a minimum comment period of at least 14
days (30 days for shoreline proposals). If you submit a written comment, you will be sent a
copy of the decision or recommendation. All written comments become part of the permanent
record.
1. Are you really only accepting mailed comments?
2. Will all comments automatically make the commenter a formal Party of Record who will
receive notices about all activity related to the applications, including the Administrative
Hearing and other actions, even if the commenter does not specifically request to become a
Party of Record?
3. 14 days is too short to comment on a proposal of this magnitude, especially as the FEIS is
4818 pages, and most folks have day jobs. I know we are not commenting on the FEIS, but on
the Land Use Permit Applications, but they are related. Neither the new nor old websites
appear to have information on this project. I searched both and have come up empty-handed.
Surely the staff recommendation for this project will take longer than 14 days. What is the
deadline for the staff recommendation, and will that also be the deadline for comments?
Please note I have filed an inquiry with the webmaster regarding the lack of information about
this project too.
