Subject: Energize Eastside Public Hearing Comment
As a resident of Newcastle, I am against PSE’s Energy Eastside Land Use Permit approval. PSE’s plan to
build 230k volt transmission lines through our neighborhoods is a risk to public health and safety and
not necessary for our energy use. I do not want to raise my children next to such dangerous high-voltage
power lines and would have to look into moving out of the neighborhood I love if this goes into effect.
Investing in energy storage and other environmentally conscience options would be much more prudent
and beneficial for our community.
In addition, these high-voltage power lines would greatly diminish the beauty of our community and as
a result lower the value of our property. The PNW is a beautiful area and we must do everything we can
to keep it that way. Please deny PSE’s Land Use Permit for the Energize Eastside project.
