NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY—RENTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Renton City Council is soliciting applications to fill the
vacancy of the unexpired term of Council Position No. 2.
To qualify for the position:
1) Applicants must be registered voters of the City of Renton, and have resided within the
corporate city limits of Renton for at least one year;
2) Applicants must submit a Letter of Interest;
3) Applicants must submit a Resume;
4) Applicants may submit Letters of Support from community members (optional); and
5) Applicants must submit a completed Council Applicant Questionnaire form
(available by emailing cityclerk@rentonwa.gov)
Councilmembers may hold no other public office and must comply with the provisions of
chapter 42.23 RCW, Code of Ethics for Municipal Officers—Contract Interests, as well as other
State, Federal and local laws. Qualified candidates shall be considered for the position by
submitting the documents listed above to:

Candidate application packets may also be delivered via email to cityclerk@rentonwa.gov. All
applications for Council Position No. 2 must be submitted by 12:00 noon on Wednesday,
January 22, 2020. Council will review the packets on January 27, 2020. If a slate of candidates is
selected for interviews, those interviews will be conducted on February 3, 2020. For more
