Joelle Briggs, FAA, responded that FAA's priority is on ensuring safety and meeting the RSA, and has invested significant funds in making RSA's compliant. • Environmental Impact Study will refine the feasibility of the alternatives • Screening Alternatives – August 2015 • Alternatives 5 and 6 using EMAS, were the preferred alternatives during the RAAC meeting in August 2015 • Comments/Questions • Comment Form provided by Mead & Hunt; responses due by March 2, 2018 • Joelle Briggs explained that the purpose of the Runway Protection Zone (RPZ) is for the protection of people and property on the ground. • EMAS is designed for the anticipated aircraft mix • Seaplane Launch Ramp, North Boeing bridge and Cedar River are directly impacted by extending runway surface to the north • Will a financial feasibility study be included to determine 616 West Perimeter Road, Unit A, Renton WA 98057 4 future operating and maintenance costs?
