Human Services Advisory Committee Meeting
May 18, 2020 - 3:00 p.m.
Virtual Working Meeting via Zoom
Attendance: Teresa Kenney (Chair), Leslie Anderson, Krista Townsend, Joe Scovel, Joanie Howe, Staci
VanderPol, Adair Hasty, Julie Dubravetz, Jeannie Anderson, Amy Koehl, Catherine Dang
Excused: None
Staff: Human Services Manager Guy Williams, Human Services Coordinator Dianne Utecht, Administrative
Secretary Jennifer Ayres
1.Call to Order at 3:11 p.m. by Teresa Kenney. Catherine Dang seconded.
2.Approval of Agenda – Leslie Anderson moved to approve the May 18, 2020 agenda. The motion was
seconded by Krista Townsend. All were in favor; motion carried.
3.Approval of Minutes – Joe Scovel motioned to approve the March 31, 2020 minutes. Motion was
seconded by Staci Vanderpol. All were in favor; motion carried.
4.Funding Cycle
a.Agencies Who Applied for 2021-2022 Funding
b.Soft Funding Targets: Discussed percentage difference in categories from 2019-20 funding cycle to
2021-22 funding cycle. Basic Needs category requests have increased considerably. Homeless
Services requests have tripled in amount of funding requested.
c.Application Rating Tool: Members reviewed two separate sample applications as an exercise in
evaluating. The group discussed details of the applications as well as how they were rated.
7.Vice Chair Election: Joe Scovel moved to nominate Krista Townsend for Vice Chair. Adair Hasty
seconded the motion. All were in favor; motion carried.

a.Renton Village of Hope Homeless Community Resource Event cancelled due to pandemic for
April 15, 2020.
10.Adjournment Julie Dubravetz motioned to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Jeanne Anderson. All
were in favor; motion carried. Adjourned at 4:38pm.
