King County should stay in their lane and let a non profit operate the shelters. The homeless have special need and
need resources that they’re most likely not getting at the hotel. What if the solution is not to just transfer people to a
vacant hotel, but instead to a center that has mental health workers, doctors, and staff who can manage people with
mental issues, addictions, etc? Seems this Red Lion experiment was doomed from the start. This one in Renton has
been a disaster for the local businesses that near this location. They’re dealing with covid restrictions and a homeless
problem. I think a good non profit that knows the needs of the population would handle it better.
