Subject:Homeless being housed in Renton
City Councilmembers, my name is Dave McCammon I am a Renton resident since 2008 when Benson Hills
Neighborhoods annexed into the City of Renton.
I would like to state that the primary reason I agreed with this annexation is that King County has been showing a lack of
interest in its residents outside of Seattle for some time. At the time of annexation the big condition was the policing (or
lack of) the area. The latest being with the homeless being moved out of Seattle to solve their problems by off loading
them on area communities shows it is continuing in ignoring the wishes of those residents outside of Seattle. While
most of what the Council has heard at the City Council meetings is coming from groups having to do with the care and
housing of homeless, I believe the City residents voted you in to take care of the City residents. The appearance is that is
what is happening and I would like to say This letter is in reinforcement of that decision. We need to take care of
Renton residents and use our resources for Renton residents and not other’s sent here to solve someone else’s
problems.
