I support the proposed Interim Zoning Controls Ordinance.
King County established the Renton Red Lion shelter without regard for city zoning, licensing, and permitting
requirements and without first coordinating its placement with Renton. Originally it was a 90 day lease, then it was
extended to the end of the year. Now the County wants to be able to operate the shelter for an indefinite period of
time, independent of any authority or regulations other than its own.
Homelessness is actively facilitated by the Seattle politicians, we should not allow the problems they have created to be
exported to the rest of the County.
