Dow and Jenny dumped their problem in our and other cities laps and do not plan to take it back. You MUST do something about it!! By putting them in our hotel, they've purposely put my family and every family in Renton as well as every business and employee at risk. Of theft, harm or even possibly death. In the first month after they were placed here a man with a machete went into and threatened the employees and customers of Uwajamaya, the store in the same parking lot as the hotel. Residents will no longer go to downtown for any reason. It's bad enough that Covid has hit our businesses hard, but by placing those with drug addictions, mental health problems and criminals in our city, this has forced closure of too many businesses who were barely hanging on. Which, of course, affects our city's budget by taking away taxes those businesses and customers generate. And, of course, by putting these homeless people who many are proven drug addicts and criminals in our city this has put a huge burden on our first responders. Theft, damage to buildings, drug overdoses and arson. It has tripled calls for help. Which makes it less likely they'll be able to help the actual residents of Renton quickly. That is completely unacceptable. On November 25th one of them put their room on fire. This not only put all of them in danger but also damaged the building extensively. It required a massive amount of first responders. I especially am worried about the safety of the elderly and wheel chair bound. There was not one single person there from King County or Seattle, no one but hotel employees, to manage or help those who couldn't help themselves. It is unacceptable to not have employees of the shelter they removed them from to not be on property to manage this mayhem!! In closing, I and most citizens in Renton are fed up!! Seattle needs to take it's problem back. And then you need to ensure that our council and mayor never let this happen again. This is the exact reason that Seattle residents and police are fleeing from there in high numbers. Do we want that to happen to Renton?
