Lifelong resident here, graduated HHS 1976.
Voicing my concern about subject homeless/addict/mentally ill shelter in south Renton. While I am
not opposed to offering suitable housing for genuinely homeless folks, I am very concerned that the
current situation of drug/alcohol addicts, unlawful activities and mentally disabled are being dumped
here WITHOUT supervision and active, continual support.
This is not a safe place for families, senior citizens, physically disabled, etc. who are experiencing
homelessness.
Until there is a well-planned and funded program, the Red Lion/ Holiday Inn cannot be a dumping
ground for trouble makers and the mentally ill. It needs to be shut down asap.
