HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Report EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT M E M O R A N D U M DATE: February 8, 2021 TO: Randy Corman, Council President Members of Renton City Council FROM: Armondo Pavone, Mayor Ed VanValey, Chief Administrative Officer SUBJECT: Administrative Report • Renton PD Loves Campaign, started in 2018, continues this year with our officers showing their love toward local organizations and businesses that have stepped up to help those in our community who have been impacted by COVID-19. Via social media, the campaign will highlight the efforts of organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Community Services Department, Renton Senior Activity Center, Sustainable Renton, and the Salvation Army. These organizations have set up drive- thru food events and lunch programs to feed the community, or creative pop-up events to support local businesses. Please visit the Police Department’s Facebook, Nextdoor, and Instagram accounts where they are recognizing the efforts of these groups and the difference they are making in our community. • Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the following locations:  Monday, February 8 through Friday, February 12, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent lane closures along Park Avenue North between North 30th Street and North 32nd Street for the City of Renton Kennydale 320 Reservoir Capital Improvement Project. Questions may be directed to Joel McCann at 425-757- 9595.  Monday, February 8 through Friday, February 12, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure along Wells Avenue South between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street for the City of Renton Downtown Streetscape Capital Improvement Project. Questions may be directed to Kip Braaten at 425-757-9809.  Ongoing Trail Closure through Winter of 2020/21. Ripley Lane North Trail closure just north of the VMAC and the trailhead going north in support the WSDOT I-405 Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. Randy Corman, Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 2 of 2 February 8, 2021  To allow for reconstruction of the South 3rd Street intersections at Williams Avenue South and Wells Avenue South, road closures for the following dates are tentatively scheduled. These road closures are scheduled as 24/7 for the listed duration and detours will be in place. Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 19, 2021: Wells Avenue South just south of South 3rd Street.
