Call to Order at 3:02pm by Krista Townsend. 2. Approval of Agenda – Joe Scovel moved to approve the November 17, 2020 agenda. The motion was seconded by Adair Hasty. All were in favor; motion carried. 3. Approval of Minutes – Catherine Dang motioned to approve the September 15, 2020 minutes. Motion was seconded by Amy Koehl. All were in favor; motion carried. 4. Committee Member Terms – Guy Williams, Human Services Manager 5. CARES Act Funding Overview (Federal Funds) – Dianne Utecht, Human Services Coordinator A. Renton was allocated $419,569 in funds from the King County Consortium. Funds must support a direct response to Covid-19. 1) $300,000 for rental/utility assistance 2) $101,178 for food assistance 3) $10,000 for city planning and administrative costs (planning, distribution of funds, contract management and community outreach) 4) $8,391 King County administration of funds B. Community Development Block Grant Covid-19 funds (CDBG CV funds) CV funds must be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to coronavirus. Deadline for spending funds is June 2021. 6. Update on Operations and Events – Guy Williams, Human Services Manager A. Cold Weather Shelter—King County assessment by an industrial hygienist has been scheduled to evaluate the structure and environment. B. King County Shelter at Red Lion Hotel—Currently 200+ individuals sheltered at this location. C. Covid-19 Impact 1) Sustainable Renton is operating out of St. Matthews Church. Up to 150 vehicles are served per week (each Monday). 2) Renton Innovation Zone has pop-ups in the West Hill area. 3) REACH contract for temporary use of the Highlands Community Center has been extended. City of Renton Human Services Advisory Committee November 17, 2020 Page 2 8.Information •No committee holiday gathering due to Covid-19 restrictions. •December committee meeting cancelled. •Jeannie Anderson expressed a desire to create a plan to improve diversity of the committee in line with what is requested of agencies requesting funding. 9.Adjournment Motion to adjourn by Leslie Anderson at 3:58pm.
