APPROVAL OF AGENDA: As stands. c -. � APPROVAL OF AGENDA/MINUTES—We di,spensed with�the regular agenda to ; turn the meeting over to Mayor Law for the swearing in of new officers and committee members and to speak to the committee. PRESIDENTS REMARKS: none at this time ��`�" TREASURER REPORT: nothing for this meeting �; RECREATION SUPERVISOR: Shawn Daly , Prior to Mayor Law speaking Shawn had a check for$25.00 from Akemi Smith to be given to the treasurer. Shawn also stated he had sent a thank-you to Akemi. Shawn also requested a check for$450.00 for Safeway gift cards that are used for the Bingo program. Introduction of Mayor Denis Law: Mayor Law acknowledged Terry Higashiyama and her upcoming retirement. Her service to the city has been valuable and commendable. She will be missed. Her r.eplacement Kelly Beymer was also introduced. Mayor Law swore in Senior Advisory Committee Members Helena Tang, Mij Charbonneau, Sandra Polley, Karla Nuss and Bill Clapp. Next on the agenda was the swearing in of the Senior Advisory Committee officers, Bill Clapp, Marge Cochran Reep,Sandra Polley and Kay Stone. ,._. � , f- �.. , �.��.\ r� - . � l� �� � . 1 . .,` �n�_� Page two cont. �- Mayor Law shared many topics with the committee regarding the status of different programs and projects for the City of Renton. Some priority issues are budget,re-development of downtown Renton,comrnitment to diversity in the community is on-going, internal education to keep people informed, and addressing public safety were just a few of the items the Mayor addressed. Terry Higashiyama thanked the committee for the opportunity she has had to � work with them. RECREAYION COORDINATOR—�Debbie Little, nothing at this time DIRECTOR/ADMINISTRATOR REPORT—Kris Stimpson, nothing at this time WRITTEN and/or ORAL COMMUNICATION— Kay Stone reported on the Nutrition Statistics for volunteer hours thru December 28, 2015. Center RSVP had 477.0 hours and 44 volunteers, Nutrition RSVP had 258.5 hours and 20 volunteers,Meals on Wheels had 244.8 hours and 26 volunteers. The combined total was 980.3 hours and 90 volunteers.
