December 7, 2015 RECEIVED CITY CLERK'S OFFICE MEMBERS PRESENT: Pat Baylor, Peggy Budziu, Mij Charbonneau, Bill Clapp, , Dorothy Cook,Marge Cochran Reep, Ruby Griffin,Shirley Haddock, Karla Nuss, Sandy Polley,Vicki Richards, Charles Robinson, Milt Tiede EXCUSED: Kay Stone STAFF: Shawn Daly, Debbie Little, Kris Stimpson CALL TO ORDER— President Pat Baylor called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: As stands. APPROVAL OF AGENDA/MI�VUTES — Minutes of the previous meeting were read, corrections were noted and a motion was made and seconded and the ' minutes were approved. . 4_ - PRESIDENTS REMARKS: Pat announced she will be stepping down as ` President. Bill Clapp will move from Vice President to President Shawn Daly introduced Helena Tang as our new Advisory Board Member. Helena is replacing Eric Eastberg. Also introduced was Charles Turner the new cook for the Nutrition Program. Charles shared that there is a need for a volunteer in the kitchen. The hours would be 9:00 A.M.—1:00 P.M. The position needed is mainly someone to run the dishwasher. TREASURER REPORT:Sandra Polley Bank balance as of 11/16/15 � $18,338.08 The cost of placing an ad in the Senior Resource Guide is $800.00. Page two cont. ���_ � ' RECREATION SUPERVISOR: Shawn Daly Shawn reported on the 7th graders from McKnight Middle School and Dimmitt Middle School who visited the Renton Senior Activity Center and had lunch with the seniors. It had a very positive impact with the students expressing how much they enjoyed the time. Another positive impact was a special needs person who responded to the Renton Senior Activity Center survey and said how much she enjoyed Dorothy Cooks ceramic class and how attending the center has helped her overcome her shyness and interaction with people. Interested parties need to respond today if they plan on attending the Volunteer Dinner on December 9th at 4:00 P.M.—6:00 P.M. The cost of the Volunteer Dinner was $3800.00. That cost was inclusive of dinner and entertainment.This dinner is sponsored by an anonymous donor. We received a check in the amount of $200.00 as a donation to�the �Thanksgiving Day Dinnerfrom City Employees Union 2170. Thank you to the Rotary Club for their participation. Volunteers from the City of Renton and Rotary Club donated their time and services. There will be no Board Meeting on December 21, 2015. "� � As a reminder Mayor Denis Law will be attending our January 4, 2016 meeting to install officers and new members. �`� RECREATION COORDINATOR—Debbie Little ' Debbie had nothing to report for this meeting as all events and trips were mistakenly reported in the minutes of the last meeting. � DIRECTOR/ADMINISTRATOR REPORT—Kris Stimpson Kris suggested that we have a card for Terry Fiigashiyama acknowledging her retirement as the Community Services Administrator for the City of Renton. Kelly Beymer will be replacing Terry as the Cities Administrator.
