EXCUSED: Kay Stone, Marge Cochran-Reep, Mij Charbonneau and Kris Stimpson STAFF: Shawn Daly, Debbie Little and Mary Jane Ortiz CALL TO ORDER: President Pat Baylor called the meeting to order at 10:05 APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approyed. � APPROVAL"OF MINUTES: The minutes of the 3/16/15 meeting were approved after sorne minor corrections. PRESIDENT REMARKS: Pat passed the meeting to Shawn for the presentation of , the Senior Business Plan for the City of Renton. � BUSINESS PLAN PRESENTATION: Shawn started the presentation. Persons involved in developing the=Business Plan besides Renton City Staff were from a cross section of support agencies for Elder people. Debbie handled the second half ` of the presentation. For a detailed Description of the Presentation — look at the attached handout of the draft document for the plan. Each member of the,, , .. Committee was given a copy with the request that they be ready to "vote and approve at the ne�meeting (4/20/20I5). There was a discussion of pre-requisites for the for the Computer Lab. According to Debbie - persons no longer have to take a class before they can use the Computer Lab. � Another item brought up was the perception by many people (elderly) that they are not old enough to participate at the Senior Activity Center. The variety of ethnic groups also was discussed and maybe some representatives of these groups should be recruited for greeters. � NOTE TO MA:RI�ETING ' TREASURER REPORT: Sandra Polley reports a Bank balance as of 3/16/15 of $17,802,44 � � � 1r ' },� ' RECREATION SUPERVISOR: Shawn reported that a new VAN was funded and will probably purchased when the 1Zenton City Fleet manager returns from vacation. It's a 15 passenger vehicle - ta11 enough for peopl� ta stand up inside while getting to their seat. It also has a running board to facilitate getting in and out of the van. It wi11 cost $3�,000 of which the City has allocated $25,000 and the rest will caver through the Ikuda fiand. Some dis�ussion resulted about the labels to be posted on the outside of the van. RE�REATION CQ�iRI)TNATOR: Debbie Little —was invitinglalerting e�erybady to the l�ediscover Rentan Walk scheduled for April 28�, �rom 1:00 to 3:OOpm. It's a Scavenger Hunt that will lead you around town. Registration is required. She also mentioned a Walk on a new trail in Kirkland on April 14. Shirley Haddock rep�rted the health treatment numbers for the fourth quarter of 2d14. There were 135 Foot Care, 595 blood pressure readings and 1� Equipment loans. Milt Tiede reported that a previous reported pavement problem— for Wheel Chairs and pedestrians—was not addressed yet: "The problem is at the South side of Grady Way and Shattuck Ave, where it is not save for people using canes, walkers or wheel chairs. The pavement has humps making it difficult to reach the pole where the bu�ton is to activate the crossing light. It is so steep as to cause a hazard of falling ox tipping a wheel chair. This area needs to be changed similar to what was done at South Grady and Rain�er Ave S." If Kris could bring this up ag�.in at the appropriate agency for a resolution.
