MEMBERS PRESENT: Pat Baylor, Mary Brown, Peggy Budiiu,.Biil Clapp, Dorothy Cook, Marge Cochran Reep, Mij Charbonneau, Ruby Griffin, Shirley Haddock,Sandy Polley, Milt Tiede, ' EXCUSED: Eric Eastberg STAFE: Shawn Daly, Debbie Little, Kris Stimpson ,CALL TO ORDER-President Pat Baylor opened the meeting at 10:00 A,M. y APPROVAL OF AGENDA-Pat asked ifthere were�any amendments to the'agenda and there were none. _ _ � APPROVAL OF AGENDA/MINIJTES—The agenda to be used as printed. The minutes for the June 2"d meeting were approved as written. , TREASURER REPORT:Sandra Polley Bank balance as of 06/02/14 $17,570.43 , _ RECREATION SUPERVISOR: Shawn Daly � Shawn had $5000.00 donated by the family of Masaye Sado. Masaye was a long time ° � participate and volunteer at the Renton Senior Activity Center. She and her husband were • both just very special people an,d very supportive of the Senior Center. Shawn also had a $125.00 check from Lottie Calhoun. The family of Masaye Sado requested no flowers for the service for Masaye, but in lieu of that make donations to the Renton Senior Activity Center. Pat MonteCalvo made a donation of$10.00 per that request. A motion was made at the June 2"d meeting to get a gift certificate for Randy Ritualo. We have not received his invoice yet but Shawn would like a $100 check so the purcha�se of. that gift certificate can be made. ' � lust a reminder that today is the Fraud Seminar. The seminar is put on by First Savings ¢ Bank. Shawn would encourage all who can to attend this seminar. An update on,the open positions on the Advisory Committee. A press release has been �: put out to the Renton Reporte�, it will be advertised on Channel 21 and will also�be in the July brochure. At this time we already have 5 candidates. And a possible 2 more � candidates. The person selected will start serving immediately and the remaining parties will stay in effect for a two year period. _ Our participation at the Farmers Market tomorrow Tuesday Junel7th needs two people to fill the 6-7 p.m.time slot. An update an the Hycie Shuttle. They are down to ane driver in Rentan area. In the past they have had two drivers. They are trying ta resolve the problerri as soon as possible. � Be aware the Coffee Bar is now closing at 1 P.M. in the past it has been open untii 2 P.M. � There is very(ittle activity,after 1 P,M. and does.not justify keeping a volunteer there open for 1 OS��'320��E'. RECREATION COORDINATOR—Debbie Little - The new GoRden Opportunity Brochure is comple#ed and will be avaitable an June 3Qth. Two- upcoming trips of interest is a trip on July 17t"to the Fire Training Academy and an independent lunch at the Narth Bend Sar and Grilf. 4n October 7th-9�'wili be doing the Yakima Vafiey Wine Taur._ During the summer months Debbie,tries to do outdbor trips as opposed to indbor tours. Glenda experienced a hearing loss;and discovered the Renton Senior Activity Center has a support group of people experiencing hearing loss. Glenda shared many things she has found out while dealing . with her hearing loss. She has made a tentative date in October for Glenda and her supervisor � to do a presentation on hearing loss at the Renton Senior Activity Center. OLD BUSINESS— Dorothy Cook had the plaque that was made to hang above the Memorial Books. The committee members acknowledged how nice it had turned out. � • � � � � v PUBLIC COMMENTS- . � Pat Baylor inquired of Kris the status of a new van for the Renton Senior Activity Center. Kris said J it is part of the 2015 budget. Suggestions had been made to fund a van from the Ikuta Fund but the decision was made that it would be part of the city budget. ` � Bill Clapp reported 25 people have signed up on the volunteer request sheet. He also reminded committee members that there is a work party at Mij Charbonneau's on June 16th.; \ � Peggy Budziu checked on a amp and mic for the float. The mic would need a plug in.
