HomeMy WebLinkAboutZoningHistory2Renton Zoning History (2000-2012)of the Easterly Portion of the “Stoneway Black River Quarry” Zoning Renton Effective Renton Zoning District or Renton Rezones Ordinance Halinen’s Comments Date No. Renton had prezoned the entirety of the Stoneway Black River Quarry property (including the subject east portion of the property)to Heavy Industrial (IH) prior to the City’s annexation of that property under 2/21/2001 Heavy Industrial (IH).4891 Ordinance 4891,an ordinance that became effective on 2/21/2001.(See attached Exhibit 1 for a copy of Ordinance 4891 and note the copy of the prezone map attached to the last page of that ordinance.) Thus,upon the effective date of the annexation,the property was zoned Heavy Industrial (IH). Rezone of the east portion of the $toneway Black See attached Exhibit 2 for a copy of Ordinance 5335 12/20/2007 River Quarry property from Heavy Industrial (IH)and note on the map attached to it the R-10 zoning to Residential-i 0 DU/AC (R-10)of the east portion of the Stoneway Black River Quarry property (the hatched area). See attached Exhibit 3 for a copy of Ordinance 5500 and note that the three most easterly parcels in the Stoneway Black River Quarry (i.e.,King County Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 3799200005, Rezone of the Residential-lO DU/AC (R-10)3799200008,and 3799200009)are outlined on the 11/25/2009 easterly portion of the Quarry site to Light 5500 Attachment A map to the ordinance as Light Industrial (IL).Industrial (IL). ORDINANCENO.4891WHEREAS,theCityCouncilfixedFebruary12,2001asthetimeandplaceforpublichearingintheCityCouncilChambers,CityHall,Renton,Washington,uponthepetitionandnoticethereofhavingbeengivenasprovidedbylaw;andWHEREAS,pursuanttosaidnoticespublichearingshavebeenheldatthetimeandplacespecifiedinthenotices,andtheCouncilhavingconsideredallmattersinconnectionwiththepetitionandfurtherdeterminedthatalllegalrequirementsandproceduresofthelawapplicabletothepetitionmethodforannexationhavebeenmet;andWHEREAS,theKingCountyBoundaryReviewBoardhavingaddedcertainterntoritytotheannexationpursuanttoitspowers,andtheoersofthatterritory,commonlyknownastheEmpireEstatesapartmentcomplex,havingagreedtobeannexedandtheKingCountyBoundaryReviewBoardhavingdeemedthe“NoticeofIntention”approvedasofJanuary31,2001;NOW,THEREFORE,THECITYCOUNCILOfTHECITYOfRENTON,WASHINGTON,DOORDAINASFOLLOWS:SECTIONI.Thefindings,recitals,anddeterminationsareherebyfoundtobetrueandcorrectinallrespects.Allrequirementsofthelawinregardtotheannexationbypetitionmethod,includingtheprovisionsofRCW35A.14.120,130,140and150,havebeenmet.ItisfurtherdeterminedthatthepetitionforannexationtotheCityofRentonofthepropertyandterritorydescribedbelowisherebyapprovedandgranted;thefollowingdescribedpropertybeingcontiguoustotheCitylimitsoftheCityofRentonisherebyannexedtotheCityofRenton,andsuchannexationtobeeffectiveonandaftertheapproval,passage,and2
