PARK SITE IMPROVEMENTS
THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as _____________, 2021, is by and
between the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and HBB Landscape
Architecture, Inc. (“Consultant”), a Washington corporation. The City and the Consultant are
referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties,
this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-19-360, dated
December 12, 2019, to provide necessary services for the Philip Arnold Site Improvements
(referred to herein as the “Agreement”);
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, change the
time for performance and change the compensation in order to provide additional professional
design services for the Philip Arnold Park site improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-19-360 is amended as follows:
1.Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-2, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2.Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended to complete the scope
of services per the agreement CAG-19-360. All Work shall be performed by no later than
June 1, 2023.
3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $4,556.50 from $440,624.38 to
$_445,180.88, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional
compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s)
or amounts specified in Exhibit A-2, which is attached and incorporated herein.
4.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.

RE: Philip Arnold Park: Scope & Fee Amendment #2
Dear Alan:
Per our previous correspondence, the city has requested that handrail lighting be included in the project at the scramble handrails. This
will include additional work in the electrical and landscape drawings, specifications, and cost estimate. This work can occur in the scoped
Task 5: 100% design phase so that the design change is seamlessly integrated prior to the 100% draft submittal. This amendment
request adds the scope for the design effort to integrate lighting into the handrail and the associated fee for this level-of-effort.
A. Handrail Lighting Additional Level-of-Effort:
1. Two (2) Team Coordination Meetings to discuss and coordinate the inclusion of lighting at the handrail stairs.
2. 100% Submittal: revise and coordinate drawings, details, specifications, and cost estimate to add handrail lighting.
a. Landscape Drawings and Details will generally include size and finish for handrail light holes, conduit placement at
the handrail base, and a detailed plan for the handrail light power supply box within the landscape or hardscape.
b. Electrical Drawings and Details will generally include: handrail lighting, conduit and wiring, and power supply box.
c. Electrical Specifications: Revise electrical specifications to include handrail light product.
d. Cost Estimate: Update the cost estimate to include information for the specified handrail lights.
3. Quality Control Review: Perform internal and interdisciplinary QC review of handrail lighting drawings, specifications, and cost
estimate. Quality control review will be by a senior licensed staff member for each discipline.
AMENDMENT #2 FEE
In consideration of the above services, we are proposing the following estimated fee (see Exhibit 1 for spreadsheet breakdown).
New Total Contract Amount $ 445,180.88
Assumptions:
1. The handrail will be a retrofit galvanized tube rail as shown in the 90% drawings and specifications.
2. The handrail lights will be the Klik LedPod 50 lights.
The above contract amendment request is beyond the existing scope of work tasks as described in our agreement dated 12 December
2019 and would be billed at the rates established in the contract.
