Community and Equity Assessment and Human Services Plan
SUMMARY
The City of Renton is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting teams to provide
professional services for a Human Services and Equity Assessment and Plan. The assessment
will provide a picture – drawn from data and lived experience – of a broad spectrum of human
service needs and access in the City and analyze gaps in services. The plan will develop a list of
strategies developed by stakeholders and provide an implementation schedule for the city.
The City of Renton recognizes the need to equitably respond to and support human services
and human service providers. To that end, the City seeks to better understand a broad
spectrum of human service needs within the community and the agencies that provide those
services.
The resulting assessment and plan should:
Provide qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions with an intentional focus
on equity at both the individual and systemic levels;
Co-create strategies with stakeholders and those with lived experience;
Identify how City goals and resources could be better aligned to effectively and
equitably address human service gaps and needs; and
Develop and recommend to the City a framework for implementation, monitoring, and
accountability.
