LUND V. CITY OF RENTON ET. AL
THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as December 20, 2021, is by and between
the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and Seamark Law Group,
PLLC (“Consultant”), a Washington professional limited liability company. The City and the
Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed
by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-21-141, dated
May 20, 2021, to provide necessary legal services to the City to defend against the claims
made in the King County Superior Court case served on the City on May 5, 2021, entitled:
Cynthia Lund v. the City of Renton, Jiemin Tam and Hau Ming Tam, and Bethesda Lutheran
Communities, Inc., filed with case number 21-2-06157-1 KNT, related to a June 7, 2018 incident
(City Claim No. CL-18-043). Such services, which may hereinafter be referred to as the
“Work,” shall be provided in accordance with applicable rules of professional conduct. (referred
to herein as the “Agreement”);
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the compensation in order to
increase the contract amount from $34,000 to $50,000.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-21-141 is amended as follows:
1.Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $16,000 from $34,000 to $50,000,
plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid
based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in
CAG-21-141.
2.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Amendment as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.
