FACILITY USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE tlTY OF RENTON AND THE SALVATION ARMY TO
TEMPORARILY USE THE HIGHLANDS NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER

THIS AGREEMENT (Agreement) is entered into this __ day of __ _, 2021 (the "Effective
Date") by and between the City of Renton (City), a Washington municipal corporation, and the
Salvation Army , (Salvation Army, for the purpose of the Salvation Army using the Highlands
Neighborhood Center Building for the purpose of a toy drop off/ pick up for the annual holiday
gift drive and distribution. City and Salvation Army are collectively referred to as "Parties."
WHEREAS, the City of Renton owns the Highlands Neighborhood Center at 800 Edmonds
Avenue NE Renton WA 98056. (Premises); and
WHEREAS, the Salvation Army wishes to use the facility for its annual holiday gift drive
and distribution of toy drop off/ pickup; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to allow such use under the terms and conditions set forth
below;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City and the Salvation Army agree as follows:
1.The City hereby agrees to allow the Salvation Army to use the Highlands Neighborhood
Center for its annual holiday distribution of toy drop off/ pickup from
December 18, 2021, through December 21, 2021, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00
PM.
2.The use of the Premises shall be at no cost to the Salvation Army.
3.The Salvation Army shall be responsible for any damages caused to City property or
facilities.
3.The Salvation Army agrees to defend, indemnify and hold the City harmless from any
claims, suits or damages, including attorneys' fees, arising in any way out of or from the
Salvation Army's use of the building. This indemnity shall include any claim made under
Title 51 RCW by an employee or volunteer of the Salvation Army. This provision has
been negotiated between the parties.
4.INSURANCE:
The Salvation Army shall carry liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per
occurrence and $2,000,000 cumulative and shall name the City as an additional insured.
The Salvation Army shall also provide such Worker's Compensation Coverage or self-
