HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Report Mayor’s Office Memorandum DATE: May 9, 2022 TO: Ryan McIrvin, Council President Members of Renton City Council FROM: Armondo Pavone, Mayor Ed VanValey, Chief Administrative Officer SUBJECT: Administrative Report • Renton History Museum has been awarded a Heritage Sustained Support grant from 4Culture for $3,750 and a grant from the 4Culture Covid Recovery Fund for $37,400, a total of $41,150, to support museum operations. 4Culture is the King County heritage, historic preservation, and arts funding agency, granting hotel-motel tax money to support cultural organizations. Renton History Museum competed with almost 600 other applicants for these funds. The grants will support exhibits, programs, and volunteer training, as museum operations recover from the pandemic closure. • Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the following locations:  Monday, May 9 through Thursday, May 12, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Asphalt repairs on Talbot Road S. between S. Carr Rd and S. 27th Pl. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.  Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Single intermittent lane closures on the southernmost eastbound lane on NE Sunset Boulevard between Aberdeen Ave NE overpass and Harrington Avenue NE due to utility construction. Intermittent lane closures on Logan Avenue N just south of N 8th Street due to roadway construction. Intermittent north and southbound lane closures of Talbot Road S at Grady Way S due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Tom Main, 206-999-1833.  Duvall Avenue NE Project: Please note the following lane closures: o Long term double lane closure on the west side of Duvall Ave NE between NE 9th Street and Sunset Boulevard for road construction. One lane of traffic will be provided in each direction, tentative through August 29. o Temporary intersection closure at 12th and intermittent driveway closures between NE 10th Street and Sunset Boulevard on the west side of Duvall Ave NE, tentative through May 20.  Downtown Utility Improvement Project. Pavement restoration will be completed this Thursday, weather permitting. The contractor has started raising manhole lids and will install permanent pavement markings later this month. Expect intermittent lane closures, parking restrictions and detours as the contractor moves around the downtown core finishing up work. Additional information can be found at rentonwa.gov/duip.  On-going Street Closure through October 4, 2023 (City of Renton Resolution No. 4446). FULL STREET CLOSURE on Sunset Lane NE between NE 10th Street and Harrington Place NE in support of the Solera Development Project (LUA20-000305).
