AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM SINGLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-1) AND SUBURBAN RESIDENCE DISTRICT (S-1) TO APARTMENT HOUSES AND MULTIPLE DWELLINGS (R-4 ) AND RESIDENCE DISTRICT (R-3 ) WHEREAS under Chapter VII, Title IV (Building Regulations ) of Ordinance No. 1628 known as the "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" , as amended, and the maps in conjunction therewith, the properties hereinbelow have heretofore been zoned as Single Residence District (R-1) and Suburban Residence District ( S-1 ) ; and WHEREAS a change for zone classification of said property has been filed with the CityyClerk on or about April 6, 1967 , which petition was then duly referred to the Planning Commission for investigation, study and public hearing and a public hearing having been held on or about April 26, 1967 , and said matter having been duly considered by the Planning Commission and the petitioner-owner having duly agreed to amend his petition for rezoning , and said amended request being in conformity with the City' s Comprehensive Plan and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposi- tion thereto , NOi THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : The following properties are hereby rezoned to "Apartment Houses and Multiple Dwellings (R-4)" and "Residential District (R-3 )" respec- tively, as follows ; the City Engineer and the Planning Director are hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance , as amended to evidence said rezoning , to-wit : A. All the property located West of 88th Avenue South (projected South) is hereby rezoned to "Apartment Houses and Multiple Dwellings (R-4 )" , to-wit : Block 58 , N.H. Latimers Lake Wash. Plat according to Plat recorded in Vol. 6 of Plats , Page 70, Records of King County, Wash. ; together with vacated streets adjoining. B. And the remaining portion of said property located to the East of 88th Avenue South (projected South) is hereby rezoned to "Residen- tial District (R-3 )" , to-wit : The North 180 feet , Block 59 , N. H. Latimers Lake Wash. Plat according to Plat recorded in Vol. 6 of Plats , Page 70, Records of King County, Wash. ; together with vacated streets adjoining. All of Block 60, N. H. (projected south) and R-3 zoning be granted on that part of the property east of 88th Ave. S. (projected south) , as this rezone agrees with the Comprehensive Plan. As the voice vote on this motion was not clear, a roll call vote was asked for. The roll call vote resulted in a tie (Stone, Stredicke, Racanello voting aye; Sterling, Teegarden, Brower voting no) .
