The Planning Director replied that in the event of a sale the special permit would no longer be in effect. Racanello stated that many more of these cases would be coming be- fore the Commission and in order to establish a policy, he moved that the Planning Commission discontinue all special permits relative to parking lots that have expired due to lack of im- provements and all expired conditional permits as of January 1, 1968 ; seconded by Denzer. Stredicke stated he did not feel any further delays should be allowed. On the motion a roll call vote was requested. Discussion followed among Commission members concerning uses sur- rounding the subject property and the fact that they felt adjacent property owners should, if possible, join in the rezone request to bring property in as a complete unit rather than one or two lots at a time on a piecemeal basis. The applicant, Mr. Walker, stated he felt certain that adjacent property owners would be agreeable to joining with him in pre- senting a unit rezone request. The Chairman stated that Mr. Walker could present an amended ap- plication including other adjacent property owners under one filing fee, but that it should be understood by the applicant that this did not imply the Commission would grant the rezone, just that it would be favorably inclined to receive such an amended application.
